GeNESIS News and Updates

A few things coming up at GeNESIS we wanted to share with you.
1. 30 Hour Famine (March 19th and 20th): Our 30 Hour Famine will take place Friday March 19th through Saturday March 20th. The 30 Hour Famine is a great way for our youth to raise awareness regarding world hunger (for more info on the famine see www.30hourfamine.org).
Our youth will be fasting for 30 hours stating on their own at noon (12:00) on Friday March 19th and will break the fast with a pizza party Saturday March 20th at 6:00 p.m. We will gather at the church at 5:00 p.m. on Friday night to do the rest of the fast together. All students planning on attending this event need to bring Friday: their own juices/liquids (no pop/soda, milk, or caffeinated beverages!), sleeping materials, clothes to do service projects on Saturday, and a great attitude!
2. Parent Night (April 25th): All parents are encouraged to come down for our Parent Night on April 25th. On that Sunday we will open our doors to all parents who desire to come see what GeNESIS is all about and how we are ministering to the youth in Highland. Mom and Dad, please “save the date” and plan on attending this special GeNESIS event with your teen.
3. AGAPE Music Fest (April 30th – May 1st): This is just a note to put on your calendar. We will be going to AGAPE Music fest this year in Greenville IL on April 30th to May 1st. More details to follow in the future regarding this event.
Also, please don’t forget GeNESIS (5:30-7:00 pm for junior high and 7:30-9:00 pm for high school) every Sunday night!
See ya Sunday!

GeNESIS exists so young people can learn how to, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Check out the video below to see the GeNESIS vision in action.
See you Sunday night!
December is here! Here’s all the 411 regarding everything GeNESIS for the month of December!
- December 13th: The annual GeNESIS Christmas breakfast! All high school youth and staff will be serving the church breakfast that morning to the entire church! As many of you know, it takes a lot to make this happen so we need you there to help out. We will be setting up for the event on Saturday night the 12th (times will be announced at GeNESIS this week so make sure you’re there). You’re not going to want to miss out on this event, it’s going to be a-mazing!
- December 20th: “Holiday Boxes Night” On December 20th we will be reaching out to the community by sending out our annual “holiday boxes” as a thank you to the business that serve the people in our community. This is a “Phat Sunday” which means both the junior high students and the high school students will meet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on that night. Mark your calendars today!
- December 28-30th: The GeNESIS high school students will be attending our annual Student Celebrations “Connect” Conference on Dec. 28th to the 30th. If you are attending this trip the final balance is due on that day ($120). Remember, all students attending this trip are only allowed to take ONE bag and a “carry on” (like a purse). You can cry about that later if you want, somebody will listen to you I’m sure…
Also parents, please don’t forget to check out our calendar tab for this months “parent link”. It has all the goodies you need to help connect with your student at home and teach the Word of God daily.
See you soon!

Some youth groups are creepy and weird.
Ours is not.
Be safe this year and make sure to spread the love of Christ in such a dark time.
You are the difference!
Happy Halloween from everyone @ GeNESIS
(That pic is so creepy!)
You might have missed this the other night at GeNESIS…
Jesus is not done working yet!
See ya Sunday night!

T-81 days… can you feel it?
